The Fog of the Info War
The shrapnel and sheltering from Project Veritas' exposé of Pfizer's gain of function research
If it is not clear to you yet, we are deep into an information war. One might say information wars have been ongoing for a long time. After all, governments traditionally feed their populations information that will enhance their governability. That being said, the information war has turned from something akin to a Cold War slow escalation of force into a full on WWI trench warfare scenario.
No government would ever intentionally provide information to their citizens that would undermine their power. Sometimes information is leaked against those who are in powers best interests. While at other times, it is intentionally shared for strategic reasons. At times we can figure out the difference and sometimes we cannot.
This past week Project Veritas shared a hidden camera exposé of a Pfizer executive, Jordan Tristan Walker, coughing up damning comments about how they conduct business. The PV video has since been taken off YouTube and supposedly other online locations as well. I believe it is still viewable in the comments section of my Facebook post here. It seems quite incriminating and seriously concerning.
The fallout also seems to make things look worse for Pfizer. Firstly, it took them almost a week to respond. Secondly, the (mostly left-leaning) media was conspicuously silent on the matter. Thirdly, Pfizer’s public response seems to admit their culpability and thinly veil it in semantic nonsense or Faucian legalese.
The biggest coverage of this story in legacy media has been Tucker Carlson’s on Fox. That’s a large audience no doubt. However, the absence of even a modicum of news from NYT, CNN, MSNBC, WaPo, etc. is more than concerning. We are used to the rather quick denialism couched in derogatory pigeonholing terms like “conspiracy theorists”, “anti-vaxxers”, “far-right”, etc. etc. etc. but this time we have an eery silence.
I did just come across a Forbes article* published on January 28th, which is four days after this went viral on Twitter - last I checked it had amassed close to 20M views less than 24 hours after it broke. The Forbes article is the usual mix of weak logic and ad hominem attacks which exemplifies these type of outlets’ approaches to dealing with heterodoxical views. This always makes me sad and frustrated because it shows how far we’ve fallen intellectually and how reactionary we are with our polarized tribalism that we cannot even entertain opposing views in a mature discourse.
*I don’t want to encourage you to read it because they don’t deserve the clicks and views. Nonetheless, if you do, do so with a savvy media awareness and a critical eye.
Although I am nonpartisan, in my opinion, this type of behavior has been more overt from the left for awhile. This is extra disturbing because they once were more nuanced and they still - in the face of the reality of their actions - believe themselves to be. The Forbes’ article might have some merit to it but due to its delivery and the bulk of it odorous content, it loses credibility. In some ways, it draws attention to the fact that it and many of the silent outlets are heavily funded by Pfizer advertising dollars. Conflict of interests much…
Regardless of the quality of Forbes piece, it is still a minor blip on the radar from the legacy media camp who has been going out of their way to praise and report on everything Pfizer and vaccine positive since 2020. When we see much more widespread coverage in China, it also speaks volumes to the state of decay in Western journalism.
I won’t claim to be certain of anything. I think that is the point of my article here. We are in an information war that is no longer cold but hot. In other words, the information that is being spread mal/mis/dis is flying like mortar shells and being repelled by counter fire and shields almost daily.
In conversations with friends, acquaintances, like-minded or not, there seems to be a wide range of impressions and tolerance for believing or denying what is circulating. Terms like ‘controlled opposition’ and ‘grifter’ are regularly thrown around. Even those who are highly skeptical of Pfizer, Big Pharma, and the government’s behavior seem polarized about who to trust and who is an ally.
Almost immediately there were medical freedom and pharma resistant voices questioning PV and their founder/CEO James O’Keefe. The veracity of this story and Walker as a real Pfizer exec has been thrown around liberally by some in the independent journalism space. That’s okay. We need to have our guard up about everything, but I do think we need to keep focused on our greatest threats and curtail infighting.
Certainly there are bad actors who are controlled opposition but that does not mean everyone is. That seems obvious when I write it down but you might be surprised about how many people cannot trust anyone or anything these days. It understandable but in my estimation, it is getting in the way.
The Pills
Most people have heard of the blue pill and red pill but the black pill and white pill are less commonly talked about and seemingly understood. I won’t pretend to be a pill color expert but I’ve picked up enough to give you a quick catch up - if you need it.
Blue pill
You are a normie carrying on believing the news is accurate, the government has your best interests, and football games are where your attention is best served.
Red pill
You have been shaken from the illusion that you live in an orderly and ‘good’ society and realize things are not as they seem. You have come to terms with an assortment of dismissed “conspiracy theories” and recognize that there are nefarious forces at play which are covered up by the collusion of many of the structures of our society.
Black pill
You’ve taken the red pill and everywhere you turn there is treachery. There seems to be no hope as the dark forces are everywhere. You have no power and no chance to stop the continued onslaught of corruption and evil.
White pill
You’ve taken the red pill and maybe even gone through a black pill phase but you realize the darkness that a black pilled person does without falling prey to hopelessness. You have an apocalyoptimist attitude. Even in the face of evil, you believe things will work out and you have power to affect change.
I discussed these ideas in greater details in my article, To NPC, or Not to NPC, It Shouldn't Even Be a Question.
I suppose what I am conveying is that there seems to be more and more red pilled people going with the black pill nihilism. At times, they seem to get a thrill from trying to crush other’s hope. Any time a seemingly positive stride is taken or a potentially force of good arises, they brush it off, demean its worth, or label it controlled opposition. They might be right here and there but, in my opinion, it is a just another way to lean on a victim mentality if this is done constantly.
I refuse to surrender to hopelessness. I do not have the luxury of being a pessimist. I have children and I need to believe in the possibility of a better future. I need to believe that I can take action to help bring about a better world.
Beyond the pills and their perspectives, the PV Pfizer story definitely has some solid commentators holding it as a true win for the truth.
It definitely doesn’t feel like the PV exposé is nothing sauce. Frustratingly, I probably have family members who haven’t even heard of it.
Ignorance for all.
This does not mean I am certain or anyone else is either. In the midst of a vicious information war or even in times of relative peace in the land of information, there is rarely widespread certainty. Most things are in flux. We cannot know many things for sure but it is still vitally important that we estimate, approximate, and act with the best evidence we have.
We cannot have paralysis by analysis. This just means that we accept the fact that all of us have blindspots, biases, and are ignorant to a variety of factors and realities. I certainly am ignorant to much of the workings of the CIA but I do not believe they are fully knowledgeable about my every move and thought either. Obviously, their capacity to surveil me far exceeds my ability to follow their moves and plans. However, the CIA’s grasp of me is not complete. There is a window of unpredictability, however small.
It is probably wise to accept our limits of knowing but not to allow this to become a black pill swallower. Action and striving often lead to more clarity and open doors.
Pfizer is bad. Fact.
Regardless of the veracity of the PV Pfizer story, I know Pfizer has a criminal record of repeat offences. I know Pfizer has deliberately obfuscated significant data that has led to harm and unnecessary risk. Pfizer is a company that prizes profit above all else - as most companies do. This is not their defining evil. Still, being a company in the space of medicine - where saving lives is paramount - every time they shortcut due diligence, skirt ethics, and deliberately indulge in fraud, they are costing lives. This is unconscionable.
Pfizer does not deserve the benefit of the doubt. In fact, they should probably be deemed guilty until proven innocent. Their behavior during the pandemic (and beforehand) has burnt any leeway they might’ve deserved. Regardless of who James O’Keefe is or Jordan Tristan Walker or any other player, history and logic dictate that Pfizer is not to be trusted. They acknowledged this themselves in their press release.
I agree, well written article. Most of us are powerless to do anything important or meaningful to combat the level of obfuscation and misinformation which the governments foist upon us, but that doesn't mean that we must be silent when exposed to the lies. We must speak up, even if those listening are not really listening, but just being polite. Otherwise, we become complicit in the spread.
